Privacy notice

Who is responsible

DogMountainInn (Mühlbachstrasse 22, 5722 Niedernsill, Austria) is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy notice.

Personal data we process

We process personal data that you give us yourself, for example when you email or call us, or request a stay:

With the booking form on this website you request a stay. For that we ask for your name, address, country, phone number and email address, and the details of your stay: accommodation, arrival and departure dates, number of guests and dogs, and any comments. With the contact form you send us a question; for that we ask for your name, email address and your question. Technical data about your visit, such as your IP address, is processed by our hosting provider (see below).

Children's privacy

Our website and services are not directed to individuals under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from children under this age.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us immediately through our contact page. Upon notification, we will take immediate steps to permanently delete this data from our systems in accordance with the GDPR.

Why we process data and on what basis

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

Automated decision-making

We do not make decisions based on automated processing that could have (significant) consequences for people.

How long we keep personal data

We do not keep your personal data for longer than is needed for the purposes for which we collect it, or longer than the law requires, for example for our accounting. We keep a request or question sent through a form only as long as it takes to handle it.

Sharing personal data with others

We only share data with others when this is needed to carry out our agreement with you or to meet a legal obligation. We also work with:

Visit statistics

To see which countries our visitors come from, we count each visit by country, day and page. Cloudflare determines the country from your IP address. For the statistics we do not store your IP address, or anything else that could identify you. We do not place cookies or other data in your browser for this. What we keep are only totals, for example: 12 visits from the Netherlands to the homepage on 1 October.

If "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" is switched on in your browser, we do not count your visit.

Preventing abuse

To prevent abuse, such as sending messages in bulk, we count how often a visit or a form arrives from the same address. For that we turn your IP address (and, for a confirmation email, your email address) into a scrambled code with a secret key. The address itself cannot be recovered from it. We keep that code for two days at most.

Cookies and similar techniques

This website sets no cookies. We only store your choice about the Vimeo video in your browser's storage (localStorage), so we do not have to ask you on every visit. We ask again after six months. We use this storage for nothing else.

You can change your choice at any time through , or by deleting this website's stored data in your browser.

Video through Vimeo

The background video on the homepage comes from Vimeo. With your permission, or if you press play yourself, your browser connects to Vimeo. Vimeo then receives, among other things, your IP address. We ask Vimeo not to track your visit (do not track). Without permission you see a photo and your browser does not connect to Vimeo. What else Vimeo does is described in Vimeo's privacy policy.

Links to other websites

Our website links to other websites, such as dogwalktrail.com. Those websites have their own privacy rules.

Viewing, changing or deleting your data

You have the right to see, correct or delete your personal data. You can withdraw your consent to the processing of data and object to the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to data portability: you can ask us to send the data we hold about you in a computer file to you or to another organisation.

Do you want to use one of these rights, or do you have questions about how we process data? Send us a specific request through the contact page. To be sure the request comes from you, we may ask you to identify yourself. We respond as quickly as possible, and in any case within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority (Datenschutzbehörde): dsb.gv.at.

How we protect personal data

We take the protection of your data seriously and take appropriate measures against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised changes. Connections to the website are secured (HTTPS). What you enter in a form (name, email address, phone number, country, address and comments) is stored encrypted, and only authorised people can read it.

Do you think your data is not properly protected, or is there any sign of misuse? Please contact us through the contact page.
